Eminem is being sued for his Chrysler commercial.

In the lawsuit, it claims that Em stole the idea for his Chrysler commercial from a homeless man. The advert debuted during last year’s (2011) Super Bowl and now Stephen Lee Pieck has filed a handwritten lawsuit at the United States District Court in New York. – Get the deets on the flip…

According to AllHipHop, who obtained  papers by Pieck who alleges he was in a Legal Seafood restaurant with Christina Aguilera and her then-husband Jordan Bratman when the singer reportedly rang the hip-hop star.

Pieck alleges Aguilera then passed him the phone and it was then that he gave Eminem the idea for the commercial, which lasted two minutes and contained the rapper’s hit song Lose Yourself.

The lawsuit against Eminem was filed on 12 January 2012.

It states:

“I want the court to reward me a judgment in the amount of $9 million. I designed every aspect of the commercial and the commercial was stolen from me. In addition, I did not receive compensation in monetary terms for the work I did.”

On December 6th, Eminem and Yelawolf will be hitting newsstands on the cover of Vibe’s year-end issue.

The two Shady Records cohorts discussed the always-relevant topic of being white rappers in hip hop, and the ways that they cope with the obvious scrutiny.

Eminem and Yelawolf explain in an in-depth interview with Vibe about race in hip hop – All after the jump…

Here is a highlight from the Eminem & Yelawolf Vibe interview:

Eminem, what advice do you offer, if any, on being scrutinized for being a white rapper. Do you guys ever talk about race in that way?

Eminem: We make jokes about it, but I don’t think we talk about it in-depth. As I was listening to his music, I am not even thinking about any of that shit. It’s just the music. That’s one of the things that’s great about it. I’m not even thinking about it when I hear the music.

Yelawolf: We do poke fun of it because it’s funny. Like, he calls me White Dog.

Oh, you called him that on the BET Awards Cypher. I didn’t realize it was an ongoing joke?

EM: Yeah, or Beige Sheep. [Laughs]

YW: Cracker Nuts. Whatever, I think it’s kinda unspoken.

EM: We deal with it enough as it is. So now, let’s make music.

YW: Let’s make great records. At the end of the day, that’s all there is to do.

No offence, but why is Eminem Rolling Stone magazine’s “King of Hip Hop?”

What is up with RS pushing the white rapper when there are plenty of hip hop icons that are more talented then he.

I’m honestly offended that Eminem is ranking higher than Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Dr. Dre and more.

It just comes off as record sales and NOT TRUE TALENT. Eminem is great, but let’s be real Jay-Z or even Kanye West should be the “King of Hip Hop,” NOT Eminem.

According to Rolling Stone magazine,  the list doesn’t measure the “all-time greatest,” but rather analyzes data like album sales, YouTube hits and social networking popularity to determine who has the highest index number.

Additional artists to make the final cut include Gucci Mane, Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Big Boi, B.o.B, Lupe Fiasco, Pitbull, Kid CuDi and a handful of others.

As the Rolling Stone puts it, the list is of quantified and qualified major players in Hip Hop.

Eminem has been planning to return to the big screen with a comeback project entitled “Southpaw.”

The project is now stale mate as DreamWorks has pulled out and will no longer back the movie.

Eminem was in the title role of the film, which is slated to be directed by Antoine Fuqua.

According to Deadline, DreamWorks has given the project back to the filmmakers, who are seeking another backer, and theatrical distribution for the project.

“Southpaw” was supposed to star Eminem as a welterweight boxer, who fights through personal tragedy, to reclaim his past glory.

According to Deadline, the movie was inspired by Eminem’s own struggles.

“Southpaw” was slated to be Eminem’s first major role in the movie since 2002 hit movie, “8 Mile.”

Rather than a literal biography, creators of the film decided upon a metaphorical narrative of the second chapter of Em’s life.

Sutter Explained.

“He’ll play a world champion boxer who really hits a hard bottom, and has to fight to win back his life for his young daughter. At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy. I love that the title refers to [Eminem] being a lefty, which is to boxing what a white rapper is to hip hop; dangerous, unwanted and completely unorthodox. It’s a much harder road for a southpaw than a right-handed boxer.”

Being a former Golden Gloves boxer, Antoine Fuqua signed on to the project later on.

Eminem has finally reached a settlement with Audi, in regards to a copyright infringement lawsuit over a commercial that featured music that sounded like the rapper’s hit single “Lose Yourself.”

last month, Eminem’s publishing company 8 Mile Style file the lawsuit against Audi in Hamburg Regional Court in Germany over copyright infringement.

The car company’s commercial for the 2012 Audi A6 Avant lifted key elements of Chrysler’s award-winning “Imported from Detroit” campaign for the new Chrysler 300. However, background sounded very similar to “Lose Yourself,” which topped the charts for 12 weeks in 2002, which is why the lawsuit was filed.

According to the Detroit Free Press, terms of the settlement were not made available to the public, although Audi will financially support various charities around the city.

“Just like Imported From Detroit helped benefit charities like the Marshall Mathers Foundation, we as Eminem’s publisher can give back to Detroit,” said 8 mile style’s attorney Joel Martin. “We’re looking forward to working with Chrysler on several new Imported From Detroit initiatives that will benefit the city of Detroit as well as charities within the city.”

Eminem’s Shady Records/Interscope has acquired rights to Skepta’s new single, “Dare to Dream,” so the rapper can release it himself.

The deal was solidified around the time Skepta’s version of the song was mysteriously removed from YouTube. The video was uploaded earlier this month, but was replaced with a copyright infringement notice, because Eminem bought the rights to the song.

Intercope’s Jimmy Lovine was one of the first people to hear the song and offered Skepta’s record label money so Eminem could re-record it.

An angry Skepta was sorely surprised when he got a tweet from Interscope, saying his song was removed due to copyright infringement.

Skepta voiced his anger on Twitter, explaining the incident to fans.

Skepta wrote on Twitter:

“Just got a f*%king CRAZY email. I don’t know if I should be angry or privileged. This explains why the f*%k YouTube took ‘Dare To Dream’ off.”

“Jimmy Iovine Interscope heard my new single ‘Dare To Dream’ and decided he wanted to sign it for Eminem hence Universal takin it off YouTube.”

“I overly love the song but at the same time I do understand Eminem together with the ‘Dare To Dream’ chorus will be absolutely f*%king CRAZY.”

Since the incident, Skepta has acknowledged that he works in an industry where “money talks” and that he is now working on a new single.

Eminem will release his version of the song under Shady Records.
