Back in November, it was reported that Trey Songz was going head to head with A&E star David Hester (of “Storage Wars”) serving him with a “cease and desist” from the singer’s lawyer, ordering him to immediately stop uttering the word during the show. Songz is also requesting that Hester stop selling merchandising that displays the “Yuuup” slogan that Songz has claimed to be his signature sound since 2009.
It was also said, Hester has filed suit against the R&B star, arguing that Trey’s usage of the word is very different from the way he says it. Over a month ago, G Dep, born Trevell Coleman, admitted to officers at Harlem’s 25th precinct that his conscience was getting the best of him. Coleman confessed his sins to a New York police precinct, confessing to the 1993 murder of John Henkel.
Now, G. Dep has entered a plea of not guilty in his ongoing murder trial. Coleman aka G Dep’s lawyer, Anthony Ricco, said his client still stands by his account of shooting Henkel, and that the not guilty plea was more of a procedural move to give him more time to examine Coleman’s confession.
Ricco has gone to tell the Wall Street Journal:
“We want to make sure what we’re dealing with the reality of what actually happened that night.”
“Some will call what he did stupid, but I think he’s doing it to get things right between himself and God.”
