Why Do They Want Beyonce To Play Black Panther, Angie Davis?

Monday, February 9, 2009 · No Comments

Can we check the French producer who wants to cast Beyonce to portray Angie Davis in a movie about the early life of Angela Davis?

Why do they continue to think Beyonce can act her way out of a brown paper bag? She is constantly flat and reads her lines, what is Angie Davis thinking?

Let be real, producer Franco-Algerian needs to look else where, Beyonce is beautiful but not all beauty have the ability to play a prominate role for black culture, unless you want lackluster script reading with no emotion, then Beyonce is your girl.

Franco-Algerian…There are so many other talented actress that could play Angie.  She is an American political activist, scholar, andauthor. Davis was most politically active during the late 1960s through the 1970s and was associated with the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Panther Party. Angie’s focus has been on prisoner rights – she is the founder of “Critical Resistance”, an organization working to abolish the prison-industrial complex.

They’ve gone mad, y’all.

‘The Source Magazine’ is being Put On the Auction Block

The Source magazine has been going through many changes over the past few years. Mediatakeout has been breaking the story as it develops, but as we have done some research ourselves we got some background on the whole thing for you. Just like it’s competitor west coast version Rap Pages Magazine which was put on the auction block in 2002 and sold, now only to be found on line.

The Source has been struggling to stay a float over the last two years. They were bought out last year and all of The Source’s staff let go. The magazine the has so much conflict following it.   Advertisers started pulling out 2 years ago…Magazine’s cannot survive without advertisers..That is the problem with Rap magazines today.

In discussion, we have learned that more and more you will start seeing hip hop magazine’s going to online only as it is more cost effective over-all.

AllHipHop, SixShot, HipHopDX and YoRaps! have proven that over the past years as they are the new breed of hip hop magazines.

Our long standing XXL, Vibe and Complex are still available on newstands, but changes are needed for a older magazine that have been around for 20 years such as The Source and Rap Pages.

Reinvent.

Keeping with the same theme and the same content only staggers these magazines as they both are struggling to stay in the game.

Jay Z,  has released news on the album Blueprint 3.

Here’s what he had to say:

“For me, the process of making an album is difficult with so many things going on,” he told MTV. “And me, I wanna make it beyond and above. I’m gonna take my time with it. I don’t have any quotas, and that’s a good thing. It may be too freeing. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. You know, I think I need some restrictions. ‘Cause if I had restrictions, I would have done it in three weeks. I would have made what I believe to be a great piece of art.”

Months ago, Kanye West spoke on the album, which many believe will be entirely produced by Yeezy.

“He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we’re gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because] ‘Swagger’ just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level.”

Jay also added that “Brooklyn (We Go Hard)”  is currently on the new album.

“I actually recorded a lot of records already. You know, all those records that leaked [online] were on ‘The Blueprint 3′.”

Meow Ladies, Can You Say Cat Fight?

I don’t know if you guys saw the mini cat fight  on the ABC morning show The View  yesterday between Sheri Shepard and Barbara Walters, but all i could say was MEOW!!!!!!!.

Barbara in her uber snobbish way compared our new president Barack Obama and his family to the old NBC show The Cosby Show , saying they were both positive black families and Sheri had to remind Barbara that the family we all did love on the hit show were just that a tv show.

Sheri felt like Barbra could have made a better comparison.  After a few back and forth comments Sheri just let it go while Barbara asked the viewers not to think she was making any kind of racist remark.

Although, Barbara may have put her foot in her mouth  we know she is not racist after all she did just admit to having an long running affair with a hot black man back in the day all I can say to that is YOU BETTER DO IT MA!!!

What do you think about it?
