Lady Gaga Planning On Changing The World???
Alright monsters, your mother Lady Gaga has something new up her sleeves for the world.
Lady Gaga has officially announced that she’s launching a new nonprofit venture, called the Born This Way Foundation.
In fact, Gaga’s BTW Foundation promises to “promote youth empowerment and equality by encouraging self-confidence and well-being and bringing bullying to an end.”
It sounds kind of dope actually. Now that Gaga’s taken over with her outspoken fashion, the philanthropist is going a step further with her brand new non-profit – which kicks off on February 29 with an event at Harvard University. Get the deets on the flip…
What’s really cool is you can join the movement like we did by going to the Born This Way Foundation website. The foundation, which is named after the singer’s most recent album and is a collaboration between Gaga, the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the California Endowment, Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society and the Harvard Graduate School of Education
However, Lady Gaga will run the foundation with her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, who had this to say about how Born This Way came about.
Germanotta said:
““My daughter’s foundation was born out of her passion to create a better world where people are kinder and nicer to one another and are accepted for who they are, regardless of how different they may be.”
“She has experienced many of the struggles that our youth encounter today, and identifies with the lasting effects they can have without proper support. Together, we look forward to creating a new movement that will engage and empower youth and accept them as valuable members of our society.”
Lady Gaga, a frequent champion of gay rights, was honored earlier this week with a GLAAD Media Awards nomination, in the Outstanding Music Artist category.
