We knew it was coming, and today it’s official as Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay have announced that they are in talks with Hasbro and Paramount to continues the Transformers franchise.
The powerhouse duo, say that Transformers owner Hasbro is considering filming the fourth and fifth installments of the series back to back, reports Variety.
However, Shia LaBeouf will not be returning for the new films, which we stated earlier this summer.
It has been RUMORED that Jason Statham is being considered for the lead role, but no offer has been made yet.
Michael Bay originally said that he would NOT direct the fourth installment, and he will executive produce alongside Spielberg, well that has changed.
Now, Michael Bay has reportedly expressed an interest in directing the latest sequels. The movies wouldn’t be the same without him.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon earned $1.1 billion at the box office, making it the fourth top-grossing movie of all time, which is a hats off thank you to Bay for his expertise directing skills.
