Shia LaBeouf Says Megan Fox Was Uncomfortable Being A Sex Symbol

Friday, June 3, 2011 · No Comments

Transformers star Shia LaBeouf says bombshell Megan Fox, who starred with him in the original shape-shifting robot movie that made her a star, never got comfortable with the fame it brought.

Shia LaBeouf told the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex:

“Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with Michael [Bay], who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women.”

That’s not all Shia had to say about Megan Fox…

“Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It’s summer. It’s Michael’s style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it.”

Shia continued:

“When Mike would ask her to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We’re on the run. And the one thing Mike lacks is tact. There’s no time for, ‘I would like you to just arch your back 70 degrees.’”

However, Megan Fox’s replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is more at ease and fully embraces her blockbuster eye candy status.

Shia LaBeouf continued to reveal his feelings to Hero Complex, saying:

“Rosie comes with this Victoria’s Secret background, and she’s comfortable with it.”

“So, she can get down with Mike’s way of working and it makes the whole set vibe very different.”

Here is what Rosie had to say when asked about the runway or the movie set and how she favors the “whatever-it-takes” approach on things.

Rosie said:

“I’ve always have the same attitude with work. I like to go to work, I like to work really hard, I like to give everything my all. I like to try things that are new, so I’m just really thankful for this opportunity.”

Transformers: Dark of the Moon will hit theaters on June 29.
