Martin Lawrence Leaks Blockbuster Reboot For Bad Boys 3! Maybe This Will Be His Comeback Film!
Martin Lawrence newest installment of Big Momma is hitting theaters soon, and can we just say, it’s a dud!
However, Martin recently sat down with DigitalSpy to talk about the reboot of the Bad Boys franchise .
Martin dropped news that Bad Boys 3 is in the works and Will Smith, director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer – are keen to return for the third installment.
Thank god, finally a movie that’ll be worth sitting in a theater for two hours. Bad Boys is a great franchise and I, personally, look forward to seeing the characters back on screen. As for Big Momma, when I screened the film, I was expecting to laugh. Instead, I was upset, disappointed and frustrated at the weak attempts at comedy. It’s worse than slapstick – it’s got no stick, at all! I will say Faizon Love and Brandon T. Jackson were great additions to the film, but no matter how hard they tried to make this bad film funny, they couldn’t. It was a waste of great talent struggling with a bad script.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the Big Momma star said that all the key players from the first two Bad Boy blockbusters – Will Smith, director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer – are pretty much in for a third installment.
Matin explains:
“They’re working on a script now.”
“That’s something I think looks very real. Will told me that he wanted to do it as well. Michael Bay I heard was on board and Jerry Bruckheimer. We’ll see.”
So when can we expect the third film?
“Those guys are very busy. There’s no timeline.”

In another interview, Martin, also, talks about Brandon T. Jackson playing his stepson in the third Big Momma film.
Lawrence told Collider about meeting Jackson:
“I met him at a party and he was saying how big a fan he was.”
“I just thought he was very nice, when I met him. He’s real down-to-earth. I said, ‘Don’t worry, one day, we’ll get a chance to work together.’ And then, this came up and when (director) John [Whitesell] mentioned his name to me, I was like, ‘Wow, yeah, this is a possibility. Let’s make it happen.’”
