Monday, December 27, 2010 · No Comments

Here is GBCWow’s top “HARD HITTER”s for 2010 – These are the best of the best in our book for lyrical content, banging music and is the true definition of what hip hop is today. We are NOT going by album sales we are NOT deciding what is the best in the charts we are hip hop lovers in heart. We have compiled this list upon hits, lyrical content and compatibility to up the stakes with music. See who made #1 this year…

10. E-40 – Giving us that music to go wild, get hyphy and rip something apart. E-40 gives voice to Oakland and to Northern Cali.

9. T. I. – Now Tip has made his mark claiming king of the South, but over the past year he’s been jumping life’s hurdles with legal drama’s and jail time. T.I. has still proven he’s been able to run a contruction company giving back to his community/act and produce his own films and make a mark in the hip hop game with his own voice.

8. 50 Cent – True to his G-Unit roots and keeps coming with more hard hits like no other, this is the mogul who changed the game and continues to do just that, He’s and rapper/actor/producer – Fif is a pioneer of hip hop, teaching all that it’s more than just music, by branding the G-Unit name in almost everything from Vitamin-water, G-Unit clothes to his Cheetah Vision Production and now a line of home entertainment 3-D glasses.

7. Jay-Z – Legend, mogul and king of New York this man has made a mark stamping his name in the side of Ms Librity.

6. Snoop Dogg – West sides leader, innovator keeping Cali on the map in a east coast, and southern dominated hip hop industry. Thank God for Snoop!

5. Lil Wayne – The Cash Money/Young Money master who’s has a work style the is unbelievable. Wayne has an ability to spit lyrics off the riff, no matter if he is talking about taking a piece of chicken out of the refrigerator and about to eat it. Weezy makes it all sound great, he is a true lyricist who makes it look so easy in the tough world of hip hop that never stops to break, breathe or sleep.

4. Eminem – Came back so good even I like his new works and can’t stop playing his music. Em has redeemed himself leaving the quirky lyrics behind and showing his street style that made him an platinum selling artist.

3. Kanye West – Ever changing like paint to canvas

2. Rick Ross – Banger and banger, hard heavy and gritty – Ross stays relevant with his rap style and Miami based swag. He’s the big brotha that puts weight behind all his songs. No matter what drama he is dealing with he proves himself with words and lyrics that give you a visual sense when listening.

1.  Drake - His debut album is remarkable not a boring song on there. Not much to say about the flawless efforts of Drake. He’s a Weezy protege learning from the best and giving him his well deserved title for HARD HITTER of 2010.
