Will R. Kelly Lose His Chicago Home?
R. Kelly is facing a $2.9 million foreclosure on his Chicago-area mansion.
According to Crain’s Chicago Business, lawyers for JPMorgan Chase Bank started the procedure to foreclose on the singer’s home last month, alleging that Kelly has not paid his mortgage since June 2010.
In 1999, Kelly was issued a loan of $3.5 million but has $2.9 million still due. Unpaid interest on the loan is currently accruing at $251 a day.
Last month, Kelly was sued in LA County Superior Court by his former manager for failure to pay for services rendered.
However, the singers’s rep, Allan Mayer, denied that Kelly is having financial issues.
