Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor who allegedly gave Michael Jackson the lethal dose which killed the King of Pop court date has been pushed back to Monday morning in Los Angeles. – See what brother Jemaine said to Ok Magazine inside…
It has been reported that the Los Angeles County District Attorney just announced that the case against Dr. Conrad Murray will be filed on Monday.
The DA wanted Michael Jackson’s former doctor to surrender prior to his arraignment and LAPD wanted him arrested before he showed up to court, and Murray’s lawyers claim they were caught in the middle of the mess. It is still not known whether or not Murray will be arrested or allowed to surrender himself in court on Monday, but we’ll bring you the latest as soon as we hear it…
Murray’s attorneys J. Michael Flanagan and Ed Chernoff were supposed to hold a news conference this afternoon to address the squabble between LAPD and the DA regarding how Murray will be brought to court.
But brother Jermaine jackson feels Conrad should be cuffed and hopefully will be put behind bars, but don’t take it from us read what he told OK Magazine:
Jermaine Jackson sat down with Entertainment Tonight for an interview about Michael Jackson’s former personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray’s upcoming case. “I just feel like it took so long to arrest this guy,” he says.
“And to just [let this linger on, it is] putting daggers in our hearts and my mother’s,” he tells Entertainment Tonight.
He goes on to say that the Jackson family is upset with how the case is being handle, how long it has taken and that Dr. Murrary is reportedly only expected to be charged Monday with involuntary manslaughter and not second-degree murder.
If Dr. Murray is convicted of involuntary manslaughter he could possibly serve no time behind bars.
“I think he [Murray] should be cuffed, he should be fingerprinted, he should have his mugshot just like they did my brother,” Jermaine says of how he feels about Dr. Murray potentially turning himself in without being arrested.
“It could be first-degree murder, it could be whatever — Michael’s not coming back, so where’s the closure?” Jermaine asks. “Where is the closure?”
“I should have been smarter about what he [Murray] administered to my brother outside a hospital setting,” he says. “Michael was excited about his shows and he should still be here.”
But that’s NOT all ABC News has their spin on the matters as well:
According to ABC News, Los Angeles prosecutors won’t make a special exception for Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician accused of administering a lethal cocktail of painkillers and anesthetics to Michael Jackson, and want to charge the physician and hold him overnight just like any other accused perp, sources told ABC News.
Sources said the district attorney will file involuntary manslaughter charges against Murray on Monday.
Murray either can surrender unconditionally or he’ll be arrested wherever the LAPD finds him. He’ll then be sent to jail while he awaits bond and arraignment — which may take a day — and then he’ll be released, assuming he makes bail.
